At home, I have six boxes filled with letters I gave and received from friends since kindergarten. The beauty of letters is different from the pleasurable feelings I experience from writing narratives or essays. Letters feel more personal as expressions of love and compassion or a way to connect, bringing one closer to people. In Sincerely, Danielle, letters I wrote to my friends throughout high school have been used as a base with charcoal used to draw myself and my three close friends on top.
